8th Scar Symposium

Innovative scar therapy in an interdisciplinary and interprofessional context

30.10.2021 - Dresden, Germany

On 30 October 2021, Juzo held the Scar Symposium as a hybrid event in Dresden for the 8th time. Under the scientific direction of Dr. med. Bernd Hartmann (Berlin), Univ.- Prof. Dr. med. habil. Adrian Dragu (Dresden) and Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Frank Siemers (Halle) the focus this year was on four medical topics: the hand, amputations and prosthetic care, obesity and lipoedema from the perspective of plastic surgery.

Topics included basic research and genetics, as well as current medical standards and future therapies. A well thought-out aftercare and rehabilitation concept and conservative and surgical therapy options were also discussed. Particularly in scar therapy, interprofessional and interdisciplinary cooperation is essential, but also challenging, said Dr Hartmann, MD.

The scar symposium provided insights into the possibilities and perspectives of modern scar therapy, convinced by its top-class line-up of speakers and participants and offered space for discussion, networking and an interdisciplinary and interprofessional exchange of knowledge. At the subsequent get-together, there was the opportunity to exchange ideas with the speakers and colleagues.

About 100 participants on site and another 100 via livestream from all over the world were present during the day.
